Notes: Missouri, St. Louis Co., 1 mi N of Manchester, under boards and in soil in backyard [38° 36' 23"N, 90° 30' 22"W ]; abundant. Differs from V. pulchella primarily by outer side of aperture very little or not at all recurved (best seen from above); the elongate body form or umbilicus mentioned by Pilsbry [LMNA, II(2):1026] does not seem to be consistently different between the species in this area. |
